The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP), which succeeds the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS), offers a prestigious opportunity for ambitious students to pursue master’s-level education in Sweden starting in the Autumn 2026 semester.

๐ Level and Field of Study
The scholarship is applicable to full-time one or two-year Master’s Programmes offered by Swedish Higher Education Institutions.
- Eligible Programs: Around 700 English-taught masterโs programmes are eligible, spanning critical areas including humanities, agricultural science, medicine and public health, natural science, social science, and technology.

The scholarship is exclusively open to citizens from the following 33 eligible countries:

โจ Scholarship Value and Inclusions
The SISGP is a fully-funded opportunity covering significant costs:
- Full Tuition Fees: Direct payment of the tuition fee to the Swedish university.
- Living Expenses: A monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 to cover living costs.
- Travel Grant: A one-time travel grant of SEK 10,000โ15,000 (exclusive to scholars residing outside of Sweden).
- Insurance: Comprehensive insurance coverage.
Important Note: The scholarship is awarded only for programs starting in the autumn semester. It does not cover the application fee to University Admissions or provide additional grants for family members.
โ Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the SISGP, applicants must meet several core criteria:
- Be a citizen of one of the 33 eligible countries listed above.
- Apply for a masterโs programme that is designated as eligible for the SI scholarship.
- Be liable to pay tuition fees at University Admissions (meaning you are not an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen).
- Demonstrate verifiable work experience (required minimums are detailed on the official website).
- Demonstrate verifiable leadership experience, either from a current/previous employer or through civil society engagement.

๐ Application Instructions
The SISGP application process is two-staged and must be completed by the specified deadlines:
- Apply to a Master’s Programme: Submit your application for your chosen master’s programme(s) via the Swedish national application portal, universityadmissions.se, by 15 January 2026. Save your personal eight-digit application number, as it is mandatory for the scholarship application.
- Apply for the SI Scholarship: Once your university application is complete, you can apply for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals. You must submit all required digital documents through the official online application portal between 9 February and 25 February 2026.
