Job Summary
The Team Lead will drive Corporate and Commercial Banking business within the Construction sector, focusing on client acquisition, relationship management, credit quality, portfolio growth, profitability, and achievement of business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire new corporate and commercial clients within the Construction sector.
- Manage and strengthen existing corporate and commercial relationships.
- Generate new-to-bank business and reactivate dormant relationships to grow deposits.
- Conduct regular customer site visits to assess business operations, property, equipment, premises, and collateral.
- Analyse Construction industry trends and identify customer requirements and business opportunities.
- Develop and recommend appropriate banking products and integrated financial solutions.
- Strengthen client retention and maintain regular contact with key client executives.
- Monitor approved credit facilities, risk triggers, conditions, and covenants.
- Monitor non-performing, watch-listed, and deteriorating accounts and initiate recovery actions.
- Recommend viable and profitable risk assets to support business profitability.
- Source and monitor customer investments and banking facilities.
- Achieve targets for Revenue/PBT, deposits, risk assets, guarantees, foreign exchange, fees, and commissions.
- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop Relationship Managers and Relationship Officers.
- Research Construction industry trends, regulations, emerging products, and potential risks.
- Review and analyse credit applications and prepare credit memoranda in line with Bank policy.
- Ensure compliance with Bank policies, procedures, Credit Policy, and HR Policy.
- Prepare complete and accurate performance reports on time.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Corporate Banking.
Key Performance Indicators
Performance will be assessed based on:
- Achievement of approved PBT targets.
- 100% attainment of annual deposit and risk asset targets.
- Fees and commission growth.
- Client acquisition and conversion.
- Dormant account reactivation.
- Growth and quality of the managed portfolio.
- Viability and profitability of the risk asset book.
- Strength of commercial banking relationships.
- Performance of Relationship Managers and Relationship Officers.
- Timely and accurate performance reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or social sciences from a reputable university.
- An MBA, higher degree, or professional certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant banking experience.
- Exposure to the Construction sector.
- Strong credit and relationship management experience.
