TPC Internship Opportunities 2026

TPC Limited (originally the Tanganyika Planting Company) is one of Tanzania’s oldest and largest sugar production enterprises. Located in the Kilimanjaro Region near Moshi, the company operates an expansive agricultural estate covering over 16,000 hectares, with roughly 8,000 hectares dedicated to sugar cane cultivation. Founded in the 1930s and privatized in 2000 under the ownership of the Mauritius-based group Miwa Sugar (formerly Alteo), TPC has undergone significant modernization that effectively doubled its factory capacity and increased annual output to over 100,000 tonnes of sugar.
Beyond core sugar processing, TPC serves as a vital economic engine and social anchor in northern Tanzania as the region’s largest private employer. The company pioneered industrial biomass cogeneration in the country, operating a biopower plant fueled by sugarcane bagasse that generates electricity for its factory, irrigation systems, and the national TANESCO grid. TPC also maintains comprehensive community infrastructure, including schools, health services, and recreational facilities such as the TPC Club for its surrounding workforce and residents.
