MCB Company Limited is a company owned by Mbeya University of Science and Technology. The company was established to provide professional services in the construction industry, including engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, project management, and related fields.

MCB Company Limited invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and reputable individuals to serve as Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

Chairperson of the Board of Directors – 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities

The Chairperson will be responsible for:

1. Providing strategic leadership and governance oversight.
2. Leading Board effectiveness and management oversight.
3. Overseeing financial, operational, and stakeholder performance.

Academic Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

1. A Master’s Degree in Science (MSc), Master of Business Administration (MBA), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
2. A certificate in Corporate Governance/Board Leadership, such as from the Institute of Directors Tanzania (IoDT) or an equivalent recognized institution, and/or Project Management, such as PMI, will be an added advantage.

Professional Experience

Applicants should have:

1. Membership or registration with a relevant professional body, such as ERB, AQRB, NBAA, or an equivalent body, is desirable.
2. At least 10 years of progressive professional experience in the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sector.
3. At least 5 years of experience in senior executive management or board-level leadership.
4. Demonstrated success in providing strategic leadership and oversight of large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, including management of multi-million project portfolios.

Tenure

The Chairperson shall serve a term of four (4) years and shall be eligible for reappointment for one additional term, subject to applicable laws and governing instruments.

Remuneration

The Chairperson of the Board of Directors shall be entitled to remuneration and other applicable benefits as provided under the MCB Incentive Scheme.

8. Submission of forged certificates or false information will result in automatic disqualification and may lead to legal action.
9. Applicants must attach a recent passport-size photograph and a certified copy of their birth certificate.
10. Applicants must possess a National Identification Number (NIN) issued by the National Identification Authority (NIDA).
