Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers, particularly RHEL and SLES environments.
• Manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines.
• Provision, migrate, optimize, and decommission virtual machines, and manage compute, storage, and networking resources.
• Perform system patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor server, virtual machine, and infrastructure performance, capacity, and availability.
• Support enterprise storage, backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity environments.
• Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support and perform root-cause analysis within agreed SLAs.
• Support infrastructure implementations, migrations, upgrades, and high-availability deployments.
• Use scripting and automation tools to streamline administration, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Maintain technical documentation and collaborate with internal technical teams, vendors, and customers.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in Linux system administration.
• Strong knowledge of RHEL and/or SUSE Linux.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of storage, backup, and disaster recovery is an advantage.

Professional Qualifications / Certifications

The following certifications are listed as relevant:

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• SUSE Certified Administrator
• SUSE Certified Engineer
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Other relevant VMware, Linux, cloud, networking, or infrastructure certifications.
