1. About Mwiba Holdings Limited

Mwiba Holdings Limited is a registered Tanzanian company under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 212). It is a hospitality company with operations in Arusha, Meatu, Maswa in the Simiyu Region, and the Mara Region.

The company is seeking a qualified and experienced Backhoe and Compactor Operator to join its team. The successful candidate will be based at Mwiba-Maswa and may be required to rotate to other company properties.

2. Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Safely and efficiently operate backhoe loaders and compactors for excavation, trenching, loading, grading, road construction, maintenance, and earthmoving activities.
2. Carry out excavation for pipelines, drainage systems, foundations, and other construction works.
3. Compact soil, gravel, murram, and other materials to the required standards.
4. Conduct daily pre-operation equipment inspections and promptly report mechanical faults, hydraulic leaks, and other equipment defects.
5. Follow equipment operating procedures, site safety standards, and environmental requirements, particularly when working on slopes, uneven terrain, and near other machinery.
6. Ensure accurate excavation, grading, and compaction while minimising material wastage, equipment damage, and impacts on existing infrastructure.
7. Coordinate effectively with site supervisors, workshop teams, and other equipment operators to ensure projects are completed smoothly and on time.

3. Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery, preferably in construction, roadwork, or site development.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Relevant equipment operating certification.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with GPS or automated equipment systems is an added advantage.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently while complying with site safety and environmental standards.
