Overall Role Purpose

The Warehouse Agent is responsible for carrying out day-to-day warehouse activities within the Express Logistics operation. The role involves receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders, as well as managing inventory while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

The successful candidate will communicate with customer operations stakeholders, resolve queries, and support seamless order fulfilment to deliver an excellent customer experience. The role also requires regular communication with operations management, particularly gateway and ground operations teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Inbound Warehouse Operations

• Receive incoming stock from suppliers and verify quantities against delivery notes.
• Inspect goods for damage, discrepancies, or quality concerns and escalate issues where necessary.
• Accurately label, sort, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
• Update inventory management systems to ensure real-time stock accuracy.

2. Order Fulfilment: Picking and Packing

• Pick customer orders accurately according to system-generated picking lists.
• Pack products in accordance with company packaging standards to prevent damage during transit.
• Ensure all orders pass quality checks and meet fulfilment Service Level Agreements (SLAs) before dispatch.
• Assist in managing order exceptions, replacements, and returns.

3. Outbound Warehouse Operations

• Prepare parcels for courier collection, including scanning, manifesting, and staging orders.
• Ensure the correct documentation accompanies all outbound shipments.
• Coordinate with last-mile delivery partners and couriers to ensure timely handover of shipments.

4. Inventory Control

• Participate in regular stock counts, cycle counting, and inventory audits.
• Report stock discrepancies, low inventory levels, and issues affecting order fulfilment.
• Maintain warehouse organisation and ensure proper stock rotation using First In, First Out (FIFO) and First Expired, First Out (FEFO) principles.

5. Health, Safety, and Compliance

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Follow all warehouse safety policies, including procedures for handling equipment.
• Comply with company security, operational, and regulatory requirements.
• Immediately report hazards, near misses, and unsafe working conditions.

6. General Warehouse Support

• Assist with process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, scanners, and trolleys, safely and responsibly.
• Support cross-functional activities and other warehouse areas when required.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers by demonstrating commitment to customer satisfaction during every interaction.
• Support effective coordination with operations management and other relevant teams to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or qualification.

Work Experience

• More than two years of job-related experience.
• Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or e-commerce fulfilment is preferred.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of inventory management and order fulfilment processes.
• A valid forklift licence and the ability to operate material-handling equipment safely are required as specified in the job advertisement.
