Job Description

The Medical Attendant will provide general patient care and support within the healthcare facility. Key duties include recording patients’ vital signs, assisting doctors during patient assessments, and completing relevant medical paperwork.

The successful candidate should demonstrate patience, compassion, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. The candidate must also provide care fairly and without prejudice.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with mobility, personal hygiene, and other daily care needs.
• Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, including blood pressure and heart rate.
• Assist with feeding and transporting patients.
• Transport medical equipment and other necessary supplies as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in hospital wards.
• Restock medical and ward supplies when necessary.
• Provide general support to doctors, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and patients.
• Assist with patient assessments and related documentation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and treat all patients with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Possess a recognized Certificate in Medical Attendant studies or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Have previous experience working as a Medical Attendant.
• Demonstrate patience when caring for patients, including those who may be difficult to assist.
• Show compassion and a genuine commitment to patient care.
• Have excellent attention to detail, particularly when observing and recording patients’ vital signs.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Be able to work 24-hour shifts as required by the hospital.
• Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
