Employer: CRDB Bank Plc
Location: Tanzania Head Office
Department: Data Management Office
Reporting Line: Manager, Data Architecture and Integration
Number of Openings: 1
Employment Terms: Permanent
Application Deadline: 9 November 2026
About the Position
CRDB Bank Plc is seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist, Data Integration to join its Data Management Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and continuously improving secure, reliable, and scalable data integration solutions that enable the timely, accurate, and controlled movement of data across the Bank’s source systems, governed data platforms, and authorized consumers.
The role involves delivering batch, ETL/ELT, change data capture (CDC), streaming, managed file exchange, and approved data API integrations in accordance with the Bank’s architecture, security, data governance, and service standards.
The Specialist will also provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for complex or recurring integration failures, lead root-cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective solutions. Routine production monitoring, scheduled reruns, and first-line recovery remain the responsibility of Data Operations unless otherwise assigned under the approved service model.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and unit-test batch ETL/ELT, CDC, and streaming pipelines using technologies such as Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle GoldenGate, Kafka, NiFi, Informatica, or lakehouse-native tools. Ensure pipelines follow approved architecture, naming conventions, and idempotent-load standards across source systems, staging, data warehouses, data marts, and lakehouses.
- Onboard new data sources through the approved data source registration process by analysing source structures, agreeing on extraction methods and schedules with System Custodians, and preparing source-to-target mappings and interface specifications.
- Monitor daily data loads, replication, and streaming lag; resolve failed jobs within agreed service-level agreements (SLAs); manage reruns and backfills with complete audit trails; and implement permanent fixes to reduce manual intervention.
- Lead root-cause analysis for recurring integration incidents, including broken connections, schema drift, constraint violations, Kafka or GoldenGate lag, and stalled extractions. Track corrective actions to completion in collaboration with DICT and vendors.
- Build reconciliation and validation controls into every pipeline, including row counts, hash and control totals, null checks, uniqueness and referential integrity checks, and schema-drift alerts. Quarantine and escalate failed data in accordance with the data quality standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Optimise extraction and loading performance through incremental loads, partitioning, parallel processing, and query optimisation, working with Database Administrators (DBAs) to meet batch-processing windows and real-time latency targets as data volumes grow.
- Build and maintain governed APIs, file interfaces, and message interfaces for internal consumers, regulators such as RTSIS, and approved third parties, ensuring appropriate security, versioning, and service-level requirements.
- Apply least-privilege service accounts, encryption in transit, personal data masking in non-production environments, and segregation between development, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production environments, in accordance with the Bank’s Information Security Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022.
- Deliver all changes through version control, UAT, and change management processes. Maintain runbooks, interface catalogues, and technical documentation, and provide integration metadata and data lineage to the Master Data and Metadata Unit.
- Contribute to Data Management Platform (DMP) and lakehouse migration, ODI and legacy interface rationalisation, and Master Data Management (MDM) synchronisation, including inbound CDC and outbound publication of golden records. Support knowledge transfer from vendors and implementation partners.

Professional Experience
- A minimum of three years of experience in data integration, data engineering, ETL/ELT development, API integration, or enterprise data management within a complex technology environment.
