Position: Forest Data Analyst
Location: Zanzibar, Tanzania
Key Requirements
-
2–3 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, forestry, environmental monitoring, GIS or remote sensing.

Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools such as Python, R or SQL.

Practical experience with GIS software, particularly QGIS or ArcGIS.

Experience with remote sensing platforms such as Google Earth Engine and satellite imagery analysis.

Knowledge of forest ecology, forest inventory, biodiversity conservation and/or land-use science.

Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Geography, Data Science, Remote Sensing, Natural Resource Management or a related field.

Familiarity with machine learning, spatial modelling, biomass estimation or forest carbon-stock assessment is desirable.
