Veenlam Logistics Limited is well positioned to meet the dynamic Logistics and freight forwarding demands of clients in Tanzania and Surrounding Regions.

Position Summary:

Transport Officer serves as a key strategic partner in the logistics business, responsible not only for overseeing the maintenance, servicing and repairs of vehicles also providing forward-looking operations leads that drive operational efficiency and profitability. The officer plays a critical role in supporting leadership by working with third part to ensure smooth transition during customer goods carriage, and strategic logistics cost control – enabling agile and sustainable business decisions across freight, warehousing, customs, and logistics services. This shall be done together with offering strategic support across Veenlam’s subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Route Planning

  • Determining the most efficient routes for transportation

  • Assign routes and schedules to drivers based on customer requirements and operational needs.

  • Coordinating transportation schedules, including pickups, deliveries, and drop-offs.

  • Plan and optimize daily and weekly transport schedules to ensure timely deliveries.

2. Vehicle Management

  • Ensuring vehicles are properly maintained, fueled and allocated

  • Maintain accurate records for each vehicle, including maintenance history, insurance and fuel usage.

3. Shipment tracking

  • Monitoring the movements of goods, tracking shipments and resolving issues

  • Investigate accidents and incidents documents finding and implement corrective measures.

4. Documentation

  • Preparing and managing transportation documents such as bill of lading and delivery receipts.

  • Ensure all documents related to vehicles insurance, licensing, and driver certification is up to date.

5. Safety and Compliance.

  • Ensuring transportation operations comply with relevant regulations, laws, and safety
