Based in the Bagamoyo EPZA (Export Processing Zone Authority) zone, approximately 40 km from Dar es Salaam’s main port and airport, Frostan operates a state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled multi-storage facility with a substantial capacity exceeding 5,000 metric tons. This strategic location enables efficient handling and transportation of temperature-sensitive goods, including meat, seafood, horticultural produce, and pharmaceuticals. Frostan serves as a one-stop shop for locally produced food items, partnering with smallholder farmers and agricultural associations. Their services cover the entire cold chain, from blast freezing and processing to packaging and transportation. The company also produces and distributes its own food range under brands like “NyamNyam,” which includes fresh chicken and various cuts available at their retail outlets. Driven by an “eco-preneurial” and SDG-oriented philosophy, Frostan aims to build a competitive African agribusiness sector while addressing local nutritional needs in Tanzania.
