Role Profile: Inverter Sales Representative

  • Employment Type: Full-time (Extensive field travel: 5 days/week)

  • Core Goal: Drive solar inverter sales and manage a high-performing network of commission-based agents.


Key Responsibilities

1. Agent Acquisition & Development

  • Recruitment: Source agents from internal solar agent pools and external inverter technicians or experienced sales professionals.

  • Onboarding: Train and certify new agents to ensure they meet Sun King’s standards.

  • Growth: Maintain and scale the agent base according to quarterly expansion goals.

2. Sales & Productivity

  • Targets: Consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly unit sales goals.

  • Activations: Organize and lead sales events in high-traffic areas like malls, gated communities, churches, Saccos, and local chamas.

  • Performance: Monitor agent productivity and provide on-the-ground support to boost sales.

3. Portfolio & Collection Performance

  • Collections: Train agents on the “Pay-As-You-Go” (PAYGO) model to ensure high repayment rates.

  • Risk Management: Monitor First Payment Default (FPD) and “At Risk” accounts; assist agents in resolving payment issues.

  • Repossessions: Oversee the physical repossession of units for non-compliant accounts.

4. Operational Engagement

  • Inventory: Ensure agents have sufficient stock while enforcing strict inventory policies.

  • Branding: Guarantee that all agent shops and points of sale meet branding guidelines.

  • Feedback: Manage a client feedback dashboard to track customer issues and improve overall satisfaction.


Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma: Engineering discipline or a related field from a reputable institution.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience in inverter or solar product sales.

  • Advantage: Experience with PAYGO systems and being a licensed Solar PV Technician (EPRA).

Skills & Competencies

  • Language: Fluency in English and Kiswahili (local dialects are a plus).

  • Tech Savvy: Basic digital literacy (CRM tools, stock management) and proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, mentorship, and communication abilities.

  • Mobility: Must be willing to spend 5 days a week in the field traveling to rural and urban markets.
