Zambia Cargo and Logistics Limited (ZCL) is a regional logistics service provider wholly owned by the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) through the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The company operates terminals in Tanzania (Dar Es Salaam) and Namibia (Walvis Bay), with an operating center in Ndola, Zambia.

(A) Required Qualifications

  • Holder of a Form IV Certificate or Diploma in Logistics and Transport, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Operations, Business Administration, or any related field from a recognized institution.

  • At least three (3) years of working experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in tallying, warehouse operations, cargo handling, or inventory control.

  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, including Excel or warehouse management systems (WMS).

(B) Key Attributes

  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity when recording cargo movement.

  • Strong understanding of warehouse, ICD, or port operations, including loading/offloading processes.

  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments and handle physical tasks.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teams and supervisors.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work shifts, weekends, or extended hours as needed.

(C) Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recording & Verification: Count and record all incoming/outgoing goods; verify cargo against bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices to ensure no discrepancies.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain up-to-date records of goods; enter data into inventory systems to track movement and update stock levels.

  • Inspection: Inspect cargo for visible damage or defects; ensure cargo is properly labeled, marked, and classified.

  • Reporting: Prepare daily/weekly reports on cargo tallies; monitor stock levels and report shortages or overages.

  • Stock-Taking: Assist in periodic physical stock-taking and inventory checks.

  • Collaboration: Work with forklift operators and logistics teams to ensure cargo is stored correctly and loaded/unloaded timely.

  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in shipment records; address issues related to cargo damage or mislabeling.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and warehouse procedures.
