Job Summary

Reporting to the Airport IT Supervisor, the IT Support Technician is responsible for optimizing the use of IT equipment and providing on-site assistance to the end user, ensuring the maximum availability of systems.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Service: Ensure and manage the continuity of computer network services.
Maintenance: Perform regular visits to check equipment condition; take corrective and preventive measures.
Security: Ensure data backups are performed and antivirus definitions/security policies are implemented.
Hardware: Maintain devices used for passenger enrollment and analysis; replace hardware components as needed.
Software: Ensure software installation complies with company licensing rules and policies.
Support: Troubleshoot basic network issues; use the Issue Tracking system to escalate problems to the IT Airport Supervisor when necessary.

Requirements (Knowledge & Experience)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Languages: Must be fluent in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
Experience: * Minimum of 2 years experience troubleshooting Windows 10, Windows Server, and Linux.
- Experience with deployed immigration control software/hardware is a plus.
- Knowledge of .NET (Visual Studio), SQL Server, MS Project, or MS Visio is a plus.
- Experience using biometric technologies or data mining is a plus.
Skills: Excellent communication, strong work ethic, professionalism, and proactive problem-solving skills.
