About the Role

Our client is a well-established Truck Logistics and Fleet Management company operating across East Africa, known for its large workforce, operational complexity, and rapid growth. They are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Internal Auditor to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal control systems across fleet and logistics operations. The role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency, financial integrity, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Audit Planning & Execution: Plan, execute, and report on internal audits covering operational, financial, and compliance areas.

• Operational Review: Review fleet and logistics operations, including fuel consumption, maintenance costs, procurement processes, and related internal controls.

• Risk Management: Identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and control gaps, and recommend practical improvement measures.

• Reporting: Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present audit findings and recommendations to management.

• Monitoring: Monitor and follow up on the implementation of agreed audit recommendations to ensure effectiveness.

• Fraud Prevention: Support fraud detection, prevention, and overall risk management initiatives.

• Compliance Assessment: Assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Skills & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.

• Professional Certification: CPA, CIA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years’ relevant audit experience, preferably within logistics, transport, or related industries.

• Technical Skills: Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills with high attention to detail.

• Communication: Ability to work independently and communicate audit findings clearly to stakeholders.
