About the Role
Our client is a well-established Truck Logistics and Fleet Management company operating across East Africa, known for its large workforce, operational complexity, and rapid growth. They are seeking a highly disciplined and operationally strong Head of Drivers to manage and control driver operations across long-haul and regional transport routes in East Africa. This role is critical in ensuring safe driving behavior, compliance with transport regulations, efficient deployment, and strong driver performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing large driver teams in trucking or logistics operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Workforce Oversight: Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and deployment of all company drivers.

Scheduling: Manage driver scheduling, route assignments, and availability planning.

Performance Tracking: Monitor driver performance, behavior, fuel consumption, and compliance using tracking systems.

Safety Standards: Enforce safety standards, road regulations, and company driving policies.

Incident Management: Lead accident investigations, driver discipline, and corrective actions.

Professional Development: Conduct regular driver performance reviews and coaching sessions.

Road Safety: Promote road safety awareness and reduce incidents and violations.

Operational Synergy: Coordinate with fleet, workshop, and operations teams to ensure smooth transport execution.
Skills & Requirements

Education: Diploma or Degree in Transport Management, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 4 to 5 years’ experience managing drivers in trucking or fleet operations.

Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of road safety, transport regulations, and driver discipline.

Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and conflict management skills.
