Job Purpose and Summary
The Business Performance Manager is responsible for driving the bank’s financial performance by partnering closely with business units to provide strategic insights, financial oversight, and decision support. The role focuses on effective management of revenue, margins, capital, and funding through strong financial planning, governance, and performance management frameworks, including oversight of Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) models and revenue assurance.
The position serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to senior business leaders, supporting profitability optimization while ensuring financial discipline and control.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Performance Management
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Monitor financial performance against plans and provide actionable insights to management.
Financial Analysis and Modeling
- Oversee and manage FTP models and other financial models that impact profitability.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of market, pricing, or product changes.
Revenue and Margin Management
- Ensure accuracy of revenue reporting and identify revenue leakage or inefficiencies.
- Drive margin optimization through pricing strategies, cost management, and efficiency initiatives.
Strategic Business Partnering
- Provide financial guidance and evaluation for new investments, initiatives, and product launches.
- Support data-driven decision-making across business units.
Capital and Funding Management
- Support capital planning and liquidity management activities.
- Analyze return on investment (ROI) and capital utilization to enhance value creation.
Governance, Reporting, and Controls
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and performance scorecards.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, controls, and governance frameworks.
Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in business finance, financial management, or data analytics roles.
Professional Certifications
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Technical and Analytical Skills
- Strong expertise in financial management, performance analysis, and business partnering.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts).
- Sound understanding of Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) frameworks and revenue assurance.
- Added advantage: Basic knowledge of Python for data analysis and SQL for simple queries.
