Position Overview

The role is responsible for managing Bancassurance operations by acting as an insurance intermediary for both life and non-life insurance business, overseeing underwriting, placement, claims management, reconciliations, reporting, and stakeholder coordination in line with regulatory and institutional requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Insurance Placement & Underwriting

  • Act as an insurance intermediary for both life and non-life insurance, managing the end-to-end underwriting and placement process for all risks placed through the Bank.
  • Arrange competitive placement of insurance covers through insurers on the Bank’s approved Bancassurance panel.
  • Record and update all policy details in the Bancassurance tracker and Bank shared folders.

Claims Management

  • Manage the end-to-end claims process for all incurred and reported life and non-life claims.
  • Record all reported claims in the Bancassurance claims register.
  • Follow up with insurers on all pending and settled claims and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with the VFT Bancassurance Policy, Manuals, and all applicable Bank policies and procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide guidance in line with Bancassurance policies and operational manuals.

Financial Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Initiate and manage all Bancassurance transactional reconciliations to maintain an accurate financial position of the unit at all times.
  • Monitor, follow up, and update the underwriting register for outstanding and paid premiums, commissions, and administrative fees.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly returns to TIRA, reflecting the Bank’s contribution to the insurance industry.
  • Prepare and share timely, accurate, and periodic operational and financial reports.

Records Management & Communication

  • Maintain accurate, well-organized, and accessible record-keeping systems for policies, claims, and transactions.
  • Ensure proactive and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders at all times.
