Role Overview
- Position: Caregiver Assistant
- Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Employment Type: Contractual
- Salary: Negotiable
Core Responsibilities
- Child Care: Provide nurturing and age-appropriate care for children aged three to five years.
- Educational Support: Implement lesson plans prepared by the Head Caregiver to promote play-based learning and support children’s physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and language development.
- Learning Environment: Maintain a safe, clean, and positive classroom environment while minimizing distractions.
- Individualized Support: Adjust teaching approaches to accommodate individual children’s interests, special needs, and learning pace.
- Parent Communication: Share regular updates with parents regarding children’s progress and behavior and respond to parent inquiries professionally.
- Child Safety: Supervise children at all times, both inside and outside the classroom, to ensure their safety and well-being.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD).
- Preferred Training: Montessori training or certification from the Social Welfare Institute is a strong advantage.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for child care and development.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Physical and mental stamina to effectively manage and supervise young children.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and classroom management skills.
