Position Overview

AKO Group Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Banqueting Chef to lead and manage banqueting kitchen operations for events and functions in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional culinary standards while ensuring efficient kitchen operations during large-scale events.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and execute banquet and event menus in line with client requirements
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate banqueting kitchen staff before, during, and after events
• Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, taste, and portion control
• Coordinate closely with banquet service, events, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution
• Monitor and control food costs, wastage, portioning, and kitchen budgets
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
• Manage procurement, inventory control, and proper storage of food items

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in banqueting, large-scale events, or hotel kitchen operations
• Proven leadership experience as a Senior Chef or Executive Chef
• Basic knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and reporting
• Strong creativity, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to accommodate event schedules
