Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Executive Chef who takes pride in delivering exceptional culinary standards and providing creative, guest-focused solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth operation of the entire kitchen, overseeing food production and all related sections to ensure outstanding quality, efficiency, and service excellence.
Role Summary
As Executive Chef, you will lead all kitchen operations, ensuring timely meal preparation, high food quality standards, cost control, hygiene compliance, and effective team leadership. You will work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Food & Beverage Manager to drive innovation, promotions, and memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage kitchen duty schedules, ensuring proper staffing and operational coverage.
- Review and enforce high standards of employee appearance, uniforms, and personal grooming.
- Conduct regular presentations and introduce new menu concepts and culinary innovations in line with operational trends.
- Evaluate team performance and recommend promotions, development plans, and disciplinary actions where appropriate.
- Ensure timely kitchen preparation for all meal services, outlets, and banquet functions in line with stipulated opening hours.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchens, stores, and food production areas to ensure the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Tour dining outlets to maintain guest contact and ensure guest wellbeing and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage / Food & Beverage Manager to plan and execute promotions and special events in line with the annual promotions calendar.
- Develop food promotions and special menus when required.
- Control food costs by reviewing and approving store requisitions and direct purchases while minimizing wastage.
- Ensure full implementation and compliance with HACCP standards and all applicable municipal hygiene regulations.
Education, Qualifications & Experience
- Professional kitchen apprenticeship or formal chef training qualification.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar Executive Chef or senior kitchen leadership role within quality establishments.
- Proven expertise in food preparation, presentation, and preservation.
- Strong communication skills in English.
