About Us
Bagamoyo Sugar Limited (BSL) is a major industrial unit of the renowned Bakhresa Group in Tanzania. Incorporated in 2016, BSL was established at the behest of the Tanzanian Government to develop a massive, greenfield integrated sugar production facility and sugarcane plantation in Makurunge, Bagamoyo District.
Mission and Impact:
The primary objective of BSL is to alleviate the national shortfall in domestic sugar supply, working towards Tanzania’s self-sufficiency in sugar and eventually producing a surplus for export. The project is strategically important, utilizing state-of-the-art digital farm technology and modern irrigation systems. Furthermore, BSL is deeply committed to the community, generating thousands of employment opportunities for local youth and supporting an out-grower scheme to commercialize smallholder farmers by providing technical support and a guaranteed market for their sugarcane crop.

Duties/Responsibilities

Operate and monitor boiler systems.

Operate and monitor steam turbines.

Support preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment.

Maintain logs, checklists, and reports.

Performing other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Qualification and Skills Required

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Basic understanding of industrial safety.

Positive learning attitude.

Basic knowledge of boilers, turbines, pumps, valves, and mechanical equipment.
