Job Overview: Executive Housekeeper

The Role

As a senior leader, you are the guardian of the lodge’s “first impression.” You will oversee all housekeeping operations to ensure world-class cleanliness while maintaining strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Quality: Lead all housekeeping activities, ensuring “luxury standards” are met through rigorous inspections and service recovery.

  • Team Leadership: Train, coach, and manage a large, diverse team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional pride.

  • Asset & Budget Management: Oversee inventories (linen, chemicals, equipment), manage departmental budgets, and implement strong cost controls.

  • Maintenance & Hygiene: Coordinate deep cleaning cycles, fumigation, preventive maintenance, and asset protection.

  • Staff Welfare: Oversee standards for staff housing, including hygiene, laundry circulation, and inventories.

  • Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to RTTZ (Responsible Tourism Tanzania), OSH (Occupational Safety and Health), and NEMC (National Environment Management Council) regulations.


Candidate Profile

Category Requirements
Experience 5+ years in luxury hotel housekeeping, with at least 3 years in a senior supervisory/Executive role.
Management Proven track record of managing large teams and complex multi-area inventories.
Technical Knowledge Deep understanding of hygiene standards, refurbishment planning, and chemical safety.
Compliance Familiarity with RTTZ, OSH, and NEMC frameworks (highly preferred).
Soft Skills Exceptional aesthetic awareness, integrity, and the ability to thrive under high pressure.

Core Competencies

  • Leadership: Strong people management and cross-departmental collaboration (working with Engineering, F&B, and Front Office).

  • Organization: Master of planning, time management, and resource optimization.

  • Detail-Oriented: A “sharp eye” for aesthetics and perfection in guest room presentation.
