Job Overview

• Position: Chief Accountant

• Company: Citi Land Solutions (T) Ltd

• Role Purpose: Senior overseer of all accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

• Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from a recognized institution.

• Experience: 3 years in finance, accounting, or auditing (preferably in Real Estate or related industries).

• Skills: Strong knowledge of Tanzanian Tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory frameworks.

• Certification: Professional Certification is considered an added advantage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS.

• Maintain internal controls and ensure full compliance with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and other regulatory bodies.

Budgeting & Cost Management

• Lead budget preparation, financial forecasting, and expenditure control.

• Monitor cash flow, operational expenses, and capital expenditures.

• Support cost-saving initiatives and revenue optimization.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee VAT, corporate tax, payroll tax, and statutory filings with TRA.

• Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure timely submissions and avoid penalties.

Revenue Assurance & Profitability

• Ensure accurate billing, revenue tracking, and financial performance analysis.

• Support financial modeling and pricing strategies to improve profit margins.

• Assist in risk management and fraud prevention.

Investment & Financial Planning

• Support management in evaluating investment opportunities.

• Assist in documentation for banking, lending, and investor relations.

Financial Systems & Automation

• Work with the finance team to implement ERP systems and automation tools.

• Enhance fraud detection and cybersecurity compliance.
