The Tanzanian Children's Fund works to ensure that all children and families in the Karatu region of northern Tanzania lead healthy and productive lives
Registered Nurse (RN) at Rift Valley Children’s Fund , Arusha – February 2026
The Rift Valley Children’s Fund (RVCF) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized children and families in the Karatu district of northern Tanzania. Founded in 2004 by India Howell and Peter Leon Mmassy, the organization operates the Rift Valley Children’s Village (RVCV), which provides a permanent, loving home for over 100 orphaned and at-risk children. The fund’s mission centers on a holistic approach to breaking the cycle of systemic poverty in the Oldeani Ward by providing essential services that empower the local community.
The organization’s work is focused on four key pillars: education, healthcare, economic opportunity, and home life. RVCF partners with the local government to co-manage multiple schools, including Gyetighi Primary School and Oldeani Secondary School, serving over 1,700 students. Additionally, they operate a rural health clinic that provides free medical care to thousands of community members annually and offer micro-loans through their Rifty Economic Advancement Program (REAP) to help parents launch small businesses. By addressing root causes of poverty, the Rift Valley Children’s Fund aims to create a sustainable future where all children in the region can become productive agents of change.
