WHAT YOU WILL DO
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Marketing Specialist to drive brand growth and sales in Tanzania and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will blend digital marketing strategies (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Google) with traditional print/outdoor advertising (posters, flyers, banners) while building cost-effective partnerships to share marketing expenses and expand reach. You will play a key role in increasing customer acquisition, brand visibility, and return of the investment through creative, budget-smart campaigns tailored to the Tanzanian market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated marketing plans combining digital and offline channels to achieve business goals (e.g., lead generation, foot traffic, sales targets).
- Manage digital marketing campaigns:
- Plan, launch, and optimize ads on Facebook/Instagram, Google Ads, and WhatsApp Business (broadcasts, catalogs, status promotions).
- Handle audience targeting (location-based) budgeting, and performance tracking.
- Create engaging content (posts, stories, reels, carousels) in Swahili and English.
- Design and oversee print/outdoor advertising:
- Conceptualize, design (or brief designers), and produce posters, flyers, banners, and signage.
- Coordinate printing and strategic placement (markets like Kariakoo, daladala stops, universities, malls, street poles with permits).
- Integrate QR codes/links to drive offline traffic to online (WhatsApp enquiries, landing pages).
- Lead joint marketing / co-marketing initiatives with partners:
- Identify and approach complementary non-competitive partners (e.g., shops, suppliers, salons, food vendors, event organizers).
- Negotiate cost-sharing agreements (50/50 splits, proportional, reimbursement/co-op models).
- Co-create campaigns: joint posters (dual logos/offers), shared Facebook/Instagram ads, cross-promotions, giveaways, pop-ups.
- Track shared performance using unique codes, QR scans, or Google Analytics/UTM links; ensure fair ROI attribution.
- Manage simple partnership MOUs/agreements covering budgets, responsibilities, timelines, and KPIs.
- Conduct market research: Analyze local trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviors
- Monitor and report campaign performance: Prepare weekly/monthly reports on impressions, leads, sales impact, and budget spend.
- Support sales team with marketing materials, promos, and lead handovers.
- Stay updated on Tanzania-specific trends (local influencers, seasonal events like Ramadan, Sabasaba).
WHAT YOU NEED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field (marketing specialization preferred).
- 2–3 years of hands-on marketing experience, preferably in Dar es Salaam
- Proven experience in digital marketing platforms
- Strong knowledge of print advertising (poster/flyer design basics via Canva/Photoshop, printing processes in TZ, placement strategies).
- Experience in partnership marketing or co-op campaigns (cost-sharing, joint promotions) a big plus.
- Excellent communication in Swahili and English (written & spoken); creative copywriting skills.
- Proficient in tools: Google Analytics, MS Office/Excel (for budgeting & reporting) and others.
- Creative, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight budgets and deadlines.
- Valid driving license and willingness to move around Dar es Salaam for placements/partner meetings preferred
