Job Title: Human Resources Officer

Location: Head Office

Organization Function: Human Resources

Reporting To: Head HR


Job Objective

Implement initiatives aimed at enhancing the total employee work-life cycle and improve staff performance through training and development to drive overall organizational growth.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performance Management: Coordinate KPI preparation, monitor staff performance, manage poor performers, and oversee employee confirmation processes.

  • Training & Development: Identify training needs, develop and implement annual training plans within budget, and serve as a Learning Champion in coordination with the UBA Academy.

  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Administer disciplinary processes according to labor laws, support investigations into misconduct, and coordinate disciplinary hearings.

  • Payroll & Benefits: Process monthly payroll, prepare statutory reports/payments, and administer benefits such as medical insurance, group life, and pension schemes.

  • Data & Policy: Manage staff data, oversee employee movements (promotions/transfers), and ensure all policies comply with statutory requirements.

  • Engagement & Offboarding: Coordinate wellness programs and engagement activities; manage the full exit process, including exit interviews and clearance procedures.

  • Reporting: Maintain HR metrics/reports on recruitment, turnover, leave, training, and disciplinary trends.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in any Social Science field or Humanities.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Technical Knowledge: Performance management, Training Needs Analysis (TNA), HR operations, and Labor Laws.

  • Skills: Strong IT application skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking, conflict resolution, and good numeric ability.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of employee movements vs. planned.

  • Timely payroll and benefits processing.

  • Maintenance of employee records and HR documentation.

  • Customer satisfaction index.
