JOB VACANCY: HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

With a 9-acre paved yard and a capacity of 3,800 TEUs, we strive to be the leading container and transport logistics provider. Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Purpose: To inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty vehicles and port equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation while minimizing downtime.
III. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
-
Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults in heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and construction machinery.

Specialized Equipment: Maintain port machinery including Reach Stackers, Forklifts, Skid Steer Loaders, and Overhead Cranes, as well as construction equipment like Excavators and Bulldozers.

System Overhaul: Repair or replace engines, transmissions, axles, braking systems, suspensions, and steering components.

Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing (oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements) according to manufacturer specifications.
Testing & Documentation

Test equipment post-repair to ensure functionality and safety compliance.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, job cards, and service reports.

Identify potential equipment issues and recommend proactive improvements.
Operations & Support

Coordinate with supervisors to plan maintenance and reduce machine downtime.

Respond to emergency breakdowns, providing field or roadside assistance when necessary.

Provide guidance to junior mechanics or apprentices.
IV. Qualifications and Experience
Education & Training
-
Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Heavy Equipment Mechanics.

Valid Driving License: A heavy vehicle license (Class E/G) is an added advantage.
Experience
-
3–5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic.

Proven experience with industrial machinery or construction equipment.

Experience with Port Machinery (Reach stackers, forklifts, terminal handling equipment) is highly preferred.
V. Skills & Competencies

Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Analytical Skills: Strong diagnostic ability; able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Work Ethic: High attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently in demanding environments.

Safety First: Strict adherence to company safety policies and proper use of PPE.
