Job Overview: Research Officer

Employer: Ifakara Health Institute (IHI)

Location: Bagamoyo Branch

Core Mission: To execute delegated study phases according to protocol, ensuring high-quality data production and compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.

Key Responsibilities

Your role focuses on the precision of experiments and the integrity of the resulting data.

Study Oversight:
- Execute procedures as specified in the study plan.
- Identify, document, and correct any deviations from SOPs or study plans.
- Participate in protocol writing and experimental planning.
Data & Documentation:
- Ensure all raw data is fully documented and recorded.
- Validate computerized systems and ensure all equipment is calibrated/fit for use.
- Archive all study plans, final reports, and supporting materials post-completion.
Reporting:
- Assist in writing final reports and ensuring data validity.
- Prepare and deliver oral and written progress reports to partners and managers.

Candidate Profile

Category	Requirements
Education	BSc in Microbiology or a closely related field.
Technical Skills	Proficiency in STATA for data analytics.
Experience	Phase I study lab experiments; GLP conduct.
Communication	Fluent in English and Swahili (Written & Verbal).
