Job Title: Intern (Gender, Protection and Inclusion)

Your Core Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer, you will support the integration of gender and protection into school-based programs:
-
Analysis: Review project documents and support the “Gender and Intersectional Assessment” specifically for the Tanzania School Feeding Project.

Field Support: Analyze gender norms and barriers affecting attendance and nutrition in Lindi and Mtwara.
-
Reporting: Help collect sex-, age-, and disability-disaggregated data and contribute to internal and donor reports.
-
Communication: Support the creation of human-interest stories, case studies, and audiovisual knowledge materials.
-
Coordination: Assist in organizing workshops and trainings with schools, communities, and local government.
Eligibility & Qualifications
1. Education (Mandatory)
You must meet one of the following criteria:
-
Currently enrolled in a Postgraduate (Master’s) program.
-
A recent graduate (Undergraduate or Postgraduate) within the last 6 months.
-
Preferred Fields: Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Education, or Human Rights.
2. Experience & Skills
-
Experience: 6 months to 2 years of relevant experience (includes volunteering/internships).

Technical: Basic understanding of gender analysis, intersectionality, and safeguarding; proficiency in MS Office.

Languages: Fluency in English and Swahili is required.

Personal: Strong analytical and documentation skills; willingness to travel to Lindi and Mtwara regions.
Contract Deliverables
By the end of the 8-month period, you are expected to provide:

A high-level summary of the Gender and Intersectional Analysis.
-
Contributions to the finalization of the project’s Gender Action Plan.
-
Drafted/updated gender-sensitive tools and checklists adapted to the local context.
-
Monthly activity summaries and lessons learned.
