Job Title: Manager – Business Rehabilitation
Department: Credit
Job Grade: C1 / C2
Reports to: Senior Manager – Special Assets Management
BASIC PURPOSE
To manage the distressed loan portfolio under the Special Assets Management Unit by proactively devising strategies to turn around Non-Performing Loans (NPLs). The role also involves client relationship management to ensure compliance with credit facility terms and conditions, with the ultimate objective of maximizing loan collection and improving overall loan book quality.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review non-performing loans to assess status and recommend appropriate measures to maximize loan collection and recovery
- Negotiate with customers on turnaround or recovery options where turnaround strategies have failed
- Prepare credit proposals on turnaround/workout options for management consideration and approval
- Conduct periodic reviews of customers’ business and financial performance and provide recommendations to management
- Carry out business and security visits and prepare call reports with monitoring recommendations
- Handle and manage customer queries, providing timely responses and advice to maintain strong bank–customer relationships
- Ensure physical verification of collateral, proper perfection, adequate insurance coverage, and valid valuation reports in line with bank policy
- Monitor loan covenants and ensure compliance
- Detect early warning signals and take timely corrective actions
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent financial and business analytical skills
- Strong business and client relationship management skills
- Sound knowledge of finance and accounting
- Minimum of 8 years’ banking experience, specifically in management of Corporate and/or SME loans
- Computer literacy

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university, preferably in Banking, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- Master’s Degree in a related field is an added advantage
