Job Summary

The Data Analytics Officer will work closely with the Data Analytics Unit to manage and analyze data, prepare reports, and ensure data integrity. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders across multiple departments to understand and accelerate business reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Reporting

Utilize Oracle, SQL, and MS Excel to provide high-quality data analysis and reporting to stakeholders.
Prepare SQL scripts to query and analyze internal and external data.
Support preparation of analytic dashboards and KPI reports using BI tools.
Create, edit, and upload reports (e.g., Crystal Reports) to front-end solutions for end users.
Document business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
Ensure data quality through regular checks and validations.
Decompose high-level business needs into functional data requirements.
Extract, filter, and aggregate data using logical queries and basic programming.
Develop visual data layouts such as tables, charts, graphs, heat maps, and process flow diagrams.

Data Management and System Support

Maintain strict confidentiality of all records and documents stored in assigned systems.
Provide technical advice and support in resolving system and application issues.
Ensure 24×7 data availability using non-disruptive administration techniques.
Communicate with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
Manage system security, integrity controls, and data recovery measures.

Regulatory and Compliance Reporting

Perform monthly data uploads to the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) for Credit Reference and RTSIS.
Manage CRB client report disputes.
Conduct digital data management.
Extract and report data for IFRS and FSDR compliance.
Prepare other reports as assigned by supervisors.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience with database management systems such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
Familiarity with programming or data tools such as WPS, Python, R, or Alteryx is an added advantage.
Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
Strong passion for data analysis and solving business problems.
Trainable and capable of working with minimal supervision.
