The organisation is committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible and is actively engaged in maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC), including obstetric fistula repairs. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and Tanzania’s Eastern Zone.
Purpose of the Role
To strengthen the Nursing Department, CCBRT is seeking dynamic and experienced Assistant Nursing Officers (Health Volunteers) to provide high-quality clinical nursing care across allocated areas including OPD, IPD, OR, and OTD.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in line with quality and safety standards, ensuring patient dignity at all times.
- Ensure all necessary patient preparations are completed before consultations, examinations, or theatre procedures.
- Assist doctors during patient examinations and surgical procedures.
- Translate medical information between Kiswahili and English where language barriers exist.
- Communicate sensitive medical information and provide patient counselling where required.
- Perform assigned clinical procedures competently.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Manage and control patient flow within the clinical area.
Position Details

Candidate Requirements
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
- Must be registered with a valid licence from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Flexible, proactive, able to multitask, and eager to learn.
