Position Title: Winder Mechanical Specialist

Position Description

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Winder Mechanical Specialist to ensure that all Engineering – Shaft Section activities are planned and executed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

The successful candidate will contribute to achieving operational targets in line with BGML Mining Safety Standards, Policies, and Procedures, while supporting safe and reliable shaft operations.

Key Responsibilities

Install and maintain all winders and shaft equipment to minimize unplanned maintenance and optimize availability
Overhaul winders and shaft equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures
Conduct required testing and safety checks on winders and shaft equipment
Attend to equipment breakdowns and perform effective fault finding
Carry out defined inspections and routine checks on winders and shaft systems

Qualification Requirements

FTC Certificate or Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering from a recognized training institution
Valid Tanzania Driving Licence (Class D & E or C)

Experience & Skills Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Winder Electrician in mining or a related industry
Underground mining experience is an added advantage
PLC knowledge is an added advantage
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Strong knowledge of:
- Winder drives
- Safety circuit systems
- Winder fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
Thorough understanding of:
- Winder operation and reticulation drawings
- Shaft operation and reticulation drawings
- Rock breaker operation
- Load-out operations
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Applications:
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Project
- Visio
