Position Title: Winder Mechanical Specialist
Location: Bulyanhulu Gold Mine, Tanzania
Employment Type: Fixed Term
Reporting To: Mechanical Engineering
Position Description
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Winder Mechanical Specialist to ensure that all Engineering – Shaft Section activities are planned and executed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
The successful candidate will contribute to achieving operational targets in line with BGML Mining Safety Standards, Policies, and Procedures, while supporting safe and reliable shaft operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain all winders and shaft equipment to minimize unplanned maintenance and optimize availability
- Overhaul winders and shaft equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Conduct required testing and safety checks on winders and shaft equipment
- Attend to equipment breakdowns and perform effective fault finding
- Carry out defined inspections and routine checks on winders and shaft systems
Qualification Requirements
- FTC Certificate or Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering from a recognized training institution
- Valid Tanzania Driving Licence (Class D & E or C)
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Winder Electrician in mining or a related industry
- Underground mining experience is an added advantage
- PLC knowledge is an added advantage
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Winder drives
- Safety circuit systems
- Winder fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Thorough understanding of:
- Winder operation and reticulation drawings
- Shaft operation and reticulation drawings
- Rock breaker operation
- Load-out operations
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Applications:
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Project
- Visio
