Equity Bank Tanzania Limited is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Treasury Sales Dealer to join the Treasury Department. The successful candidate will work closely with bank branches and business units to provide innovative treasury solutions and grow the bank’s foreign exchange and investment portfolio.

Basic Purpose

The primary objective is to promote, grow, and cross-sell treasury products to provide solutions to clients. You will aim to meet client requirements for forex, hedging, and investment while increasing the bank’s share of wallet and achieving revenue goals assigned by management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Develop a robust and loyal SME customer base by building relationships with key decision-makers.

  • Product Marketing: Actively support and market treasury product offerings, including Spot, Forward, and Swaps, to enhance business turnover and profitability.

  • Internal Collaboration: Coordinate with internal counterparts in Credit and Transaction Banking (SME) units regarding FX-related client requirements.

  • Transaction Execution: Conclude FX deals (sale or purchase of currencies) with clients via recorded phone lines and email.

  • Digital Transformation: Roll out and enhance E-Channel offerings for Treasury products, specifically migrating the existing customer base to the EazzyFX platform.

  • Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of the latest market developments, competitor tactical mapping, and market intelligence.

  • Reporting: Provide weekly reporting on client growth, volume, and profitability within your assigned portfolio.

  • Mentorship: Train and mentor other dealers and bank staff on foreign exchange, money markets, and Fixed Income products.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all business control requirements are adhered to in line with Bank, Group, and Regulatory policies.

  • Maintain full awareness of policies regarding money laundering prevention (KYC), operational risk, market risk, and reputational risk.

  • Comply with all provisions of the ACI Code of Conduct.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree is considered an additional advantage.

  • Certification: ACI Dealing Certificate is required.

  • Experience: At least 4 years of relevant working experience.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Treasury policies, procedures, and ethical requirements.

  • Knowledge of interest rate risk management (structural and behavioral analysis).

  • Knowledge of liquidity, funding, and capital risk management.

  • Deep understanding of financial markets, economic fundamentals, and treasury/corporate products.

  • High competency in Microsoft Excel and excellent communication skills.
