The main purpose of this role is to drive:

  • Loan and Advances growth
  • Deposit growth
  • Alternative product growth at branches

This includes managing all sales activities, supporting, monitoring, and training Branch Sales Officers across respective branches.


Job Description

1. Accountability: Business Soliciting – Acquisition / Recruitment

Customer Acquisition & Growth

  • Drive customer acquisition and recruitment.
  • Frequently visit existing customers.
  • Ensure all customer acquisition points are functioning effectively at all times.
  • Enhance customer experience by ensuring proper execution of:
    • Account opening
    • Account maintenance
    • Loan onboarding
    • Digital onboarding
    • Digital activation and usage

Business Development

  • Identify sectors/areas relevant for business growth within the locality.
  • Identify, solicit, conduct KYC and risk reviews of potential customers and approach them to open accounts.
  • Work with Business Development Partner to initiate development of relevant products suited to the locality.
  • Provide continuous feedback to the Head of Customer Network on performance of products and services at branches.
  • Engage with:
    • Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB)
    • Business Banking (BB)
      to explore retail opportunities from their clients (One Bank Concept).
  • Address customer queries related to business matters.

2. Accountability: Deposit Mobilization

  • Understand local business dynamics and leverage opportunities to grow deposits.
  • Supervise deposit mobilization campaigns at branches.
  • Proactively and continuously solicit deposits from all Bank clients to meet deposit targets.
  • Follow up proactively on activities outlined in the branch activity calendar.

3. Accountability: Cross Selling

  • Cross-sell all Bank products, including:
    • Mobile Banking
    • Internet Banking
    • Agent Banking
    • Insurance Products
    • Deposit Products
    • Loan Products
    • FX
    • Transfers
  • Collect market intelligence on:
    • Local competition
    • Competing products
    • Service levels

4. Accountability: Relationship Management

  • Drive customer engagement activities at branches.
  • Engage directly with clients and potential clients to build trust and customer loyalty.
  • Identify potential clients and develop strategies to onboard them through informative meetings and product discussions.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with segmented customers through:
    • Active listening
    • Problem sharing
    • Joint solution finding
  • Manage customer business contacts and participate in corporate customer social occasions.
  • Maintain business acquired to ensure customer activeness and reduce churn.

5. Accountability: Reports, Monitoring & Turnaround

  • Maintain database of High Net Worth customers at branches.
  • Monitor branch business growth through KPIs.
  • Monitor loan turnaround time and provide recovery support.
  • Take responsibility for PAR and NPL performance of Branch retail loans.
  • Provide inputs and reports to Stressed Asset Management Units and facilitate recovery efforts at branch level.

6. Accountability: Coaching & Mentoring

  • Coach and mentor Branch Sales teams regularly.
  • Monitor and report performance against agreed KPIs.

Other Duties

  • Participate in branch budgeting for sales-related activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.
  • Prepare reports and business proposals for management approval.

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ banking experience.
  • Broad knowledge of banking practices (product knowledge) and banking regulations.
