Manager – Underground (UG) Maintenance
Position Description
North Mara Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an Underground Maintenance Manager to join and strengthen our team.

Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage the underground mobile maintenance team to ensure timely and effective maintenance activities
- Oversee personnel performance, training, and development
- Promote a strong safety-first culture
- Perform regular workplace inspections
- Conduct event investigations and ensure follow-up of recommendations
2. Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for underground mobile equipment
- Oversee maintenance scheduling, spare parts inventory, and procurement to minimize downtime
- Coordinate with operations to plan major maintenance repairs with minimal production impact
- Provide maintenance oversight and input for new projects and construction activities
- Ensure efficient use of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
3. Technical Oversight & Performance Optimization
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to underground mobile machinery
- Monitor equipment performance and establish KPIs to improve reliability and efficiency
- Provide feedback to OEMs to improve equipment performance and operation
- Stay updated with technological advancements and incorporate best maintenance practices
4. Compliance, Quality & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with established procedures, safety regulations, and ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate management reports
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control for all maintenance-related activities
- Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize maintenance resources
5. Other Duties
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Underground Manager
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mining Engineering, or related field
- Relevant certifications in Heavy Equipment, Mining, or Safety
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in underground mobile equipment maintenance within the mining industry
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of underground mining operations, safety standards, and maintenance systems (e.g., SAP)
- Proven experience with specific OEM equipment (e.g., Sandvik) is preferred
