About the Opportunity
The Royal Danish Embassy in Dar es Salaam invites applications for two Programme Officer positions to support Denmark’s Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) during the feasibility phase of two upcoming technical cooperation projects.

These roles provide an opportunity to contribute to Denmark’s development cooperation in Tanzania while working in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
About the Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC)
Denmark has implemented sector cooperation projects globally for over a decade. These will be the first SSC initiatives in Tanzania, aiming to establish long-term government-to-government cooperation between:
- Danish and Tanzanian Health Ministries
- Danish and Tanzanian Tax Authorities
The objective is to build alliances that facilitate shared expertise, regulatory knowledge exchange, planning, enforcement, and implementation strategies.
Main Responsibilities
The Programme Officers will:
- Analyse and report on political, social, and economic developments relevant to the sector
- Arrange, participate in, and report on meetings with key local and international stakeholders
- Prepare and coordinate official visits between Danish and Tanzanian institutions
- Support Sector Counsellors in maintaining stakeholder overviews and sector developments
- Contribute to efforts supporting Danish companies in Tanzania (in collaboration with trade colleagues)
- Ensure adherence to administrative procedures
- Produce content for social media and public diplomacy
- Represent Denmark in relevant coordination mechanisms
You will work closely with Tanzanian and Danish ministries, agencies, and partners.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Strong analytical skills and interest in relevant policy areas
- Ability to manage practical and logistical tasks with attention to detail
- Flexible, team-oriented, and willing to share and acquire knowledge
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office
- Fluency in English

- Previous experience in relevant policy areas (e.g., government institutions, think tanks, research organisations, or implementing agencies)

Employment Conditions
- Full-time locally employed position based on Tanzanian labour laws and Danish Foreign Ministry policies
