Job Title: Organisational Effectiveness Specialist
Role Purpose
The role is responsible for driving the Organisational Effectiveness (OE) agenda and providing subject matter expertise and guidance to HR teams. The incumbent will support and enable the Organisational Effectiveness & Change Strategy by identifying, developing, and implementing OE projects and initiatives.
Key focus areas include:
- Organisation design and organisational diagnosis
- Data analytics and performance insights
- Organisational effectiveness and efficiency
- Maintenance of organisational job architecture
- Change management and cultural transformation
The role will also partner with internal stakeholders such as HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and functional leaders to share expertise, best practices, and support organisational improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
Organisational Effectiveness & Strategy Alignment
- Work closely with functional leaders, executive leadership, and HRBPs to align organisational structures with business strategy.
- Conduct ongoing organisational diagnosis and sizing to identify improvement opportunities.
- Implement sustainable organisational performance improvements.
Organisation Design & Transformation
- Support company-wide digital transformation projects and business unit change initiatives.
- Drive macro-level organisational design to support transformation strategies.
- Shape future organisational operating models, ways of working, and efficiency frameworks.
Efficiency and Performance Improvement
- In partnership with HRBPs and HR Directors, develop and drive a continuous efficiency agenda.
- Analyse and improve organisational effectiveness metrics, including:
- Average span of control
- Management ratios
- Organisational layers
- Employment costs
- Workforce productivity indicators
Operational Improvement
- Simplify processes and reduce duplication within business units.
- Reallocate resources to support new revenue streams and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct detailed analysis to ensure sustainable organisational optimisation.
Workforce Planning Support
- Assist HRBPs with workforce planning activities.
- Monitor permanent and contractor headcount and employment costs.
Innovation & Knowledge Sharing
- Promote innovative approaches to organisational improvement initiatives.
- Encourage problem-solving, knowledge sharing, and calculated risk-taking.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and new idea generation.
Core Competencies, Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:
- Organisational effectiveness
- Organisation design and operating models
- Organisational efficiency
- Proven experience in:
- Business restructuring
- Transformation initiatives
- People change management
- Knowledge and experience in:
- Agile organisation design methodologies
- Workforce planning (headcount and employment cost management)
- Job architecture frameworks
- Job evaluation methodologies, such as:
- Paterson Job Grading System
- Hay Job Evaluation System
- Willis Towers Watson Global Grading System
- Good understanding of change management frameworks and experience developing change management plans.
- Strong competencies in:
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship building
- Strategic and analytical thinking
- Written and verbal communication
- Learning agility and curiosity
- Understanding of multinational corporate environments and operating across multiple geographies.
- Experience in Telecommunications, Technology, or Consulting industries is considered an advantage.
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree (BCom) in:
- Industrial Psychology
- Human Resource Management
- Or a related field
Advantageous
- Postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
