Position Overview

DCB Commercial Bank Plc is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Relationship Manager – Trade Finance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for growing and managing the trade finance business portfolio to ensure the achievement of portfolio growth, income targets, and asset quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Drive trade finance business growth by identifying new opportunities and onboarding new-to-bank clients.
  • Cross-sell trade and working capital solutions to corporate and commercial customers.
  • Identify opportunities in major government projects to acquire trade finance leads for contractors and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential projects and clients to expand business opportunities.

Pipeline and Portfolio Management

  • Manage and grow the trade finance sales pipeline from:
    • Client identification
    • Deal structuring
    • Credit processing
    • Facility activation
    • Utilization monitoring
  • Ensure the allocated portfolio is closely monitored and required actions are implemented effectively.
  • Monitor facility utilization, fee income generation, and customer transaction trends to drive revenue growth and reduce dormant trade lines.

Trade Finance Structuring

  • Structure and support issuance of trade finance instruments such as:
    • Letters of Credit (LCs)
    • Bank Guarantees
    • Documentary Collections
    • Other trade finance solutions aligned with client needs and bank risk appetite.

Credit and Risk Analysis

  • Analyse customer financial statements, trade cycles, and transaction flows to support:
    • Credit assessments
    • Structured financing proposals
    • Risk evaluation
  • Monitor early warning signals and emerging risks within the trade portfolio to maintain credit quality.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with:
    • AML/KYC regulations
    • Internal credit policies
    • Regulatory requirements
  • Prepare portfolio performance reports, including:
    • Revenue performance
    • Risk exposure
    • Product utilization
    • Trade finance portfolio trends.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in trade finance.
  • Strong skills in:
    • Trade finance structuring
    • Credit analysis
    • Financial assessment
  • Proven ability to:
    • Prepare high-quality credit proposals
    • Manage portfolio risks
    • Support business growth through structured trade finance transactions including Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, and Documentary Collections.
