Job Vacancy: Specialist – Enterprise Applications Support (2 Positions)

Job Purpose

The Specialist – Enterprise Applications Support will provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mission-critical business applications. The role involves collaborating with IT teams, vendors, and end users to ensure reliable and seamless business operations across the bank’s enterprise systems.


Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Integration

  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain enterprise software applications and system integrations.
  • Develop and customize software components, scripts, APIs, and workflows to support enterprise systems.
  • Perform application enhancements, bug fixes, and system optimizations to improve performance and reliability.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Application Support & Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, integration issues, and production incidents.
  • Provide Level 2 technical support for enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, HRMS, and email systems.
  • Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise systems in line with SLAs.
  • Support system patching, upgrades, and enhancements in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
  • Participate in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness activities for critical systems.

Security & Risk Management

  • Apply standardized security controls including access management, encryption, and patching.
  • Support the implementation of actions to manage risks identified within the Enterprise Risk Framework.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to avoid recurring issues.

Performance & Innovation

  • Monitor and tune enterprise systems for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Monitor license usage and ensure cost-effective utilization of systems.
  • Contribute to innovation, testing, and proof-of-concept activities to improve system efficiency.
  • Research emerging technologies and best practices to support future IT strategies.
  • Act as a technical contact for projects affecting enterprise applications.

Knowledge & Skills

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of software development and application support practices, including troubleshooting, testing, and change management.
  • Understanding of enterprise applications such as ERP and CRM platforms.
  • Foundational knowledge of Windows and Linux environments, including licensing models.
  • Proficiency in managing Microsoft on-premises and cloud services such as:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Active Directory
    • Exchange Online
  • Knowledge of application, database, and middleware security fundamentals.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • High standards of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple business language.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Certifications:

  • ITIL Certification
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator
  • Other relevant IT certifications.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing:
    • On-premises and cloud directory services
    • Mail systems
    • Microsoft O365 environments
    • Enterprise applications
  • Experience with DevOps practices.
  • Experience managing large-scale IT projects.
  • Experience in protecting applications, systems, and data.
