Position Title: Branch Manager – Mwanza
Department: Retail & Digital Banking
Location: Dar es Salaam, Ilala
Job Purpose
The Branch Manager is responsible for customer retention, branch productivity, and business growth through effective customer relationship management and sales. The role ensures high-quality customer service, promotes loyalty, and drives branch performance to achieve business targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth
- Ensure business growth by marketing bank products and building/maintaining relationships with new and existing customers.
- Monitor branch performance to achieve overall business targets.
- Set performance targets for the branch business team and ensure achievement.
- Manage branch liability portfolio and cross-selling initiatives.
- Drive branch sales while ensuring quality customer acquisition and compliance with bank procedures and KYC requirements.
- Provide recommendations for the development and promotion of new products.
2. Customer Service
- Enhance customer retention by improving branch-level customer service.
- Monitor customer complaints and transactions.
- Maintain personalized relationships with high-net-worth clients through regular engagement.
- Respond promptly to customer-related queries.
3. Operations
- Grow low-cost accounts and promote cross-selling.
- Support development and uptake of new products.
4. Compliance
- Ensure all branch operations comply with relevant banking laws, regulations, systems, and procedures.
5. Reporting
- Ensure timely submission of all required reports, including periodic business reports, call reports, and surprise check reports.
6. Risk Management
- Coordinate branch risk control self-assessments (RCSA) with the Branch Operations Manager.
- Develop, maintain, and update risk procedures and systems.
- Ensure all required displays are in place (business permits, licenses, tariffs, etc.).
- Promote risk management culture and adoption of risk management tools.
- Drive remediation of exceptions identified during audits or risk reviews.
7. Administration
- Implement board and management directives effectively and timely.
- Manage branch staff, including leave management, training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Provide input for branch business-related budgets.
- Attend to audit queries related to branch operations.
- Liaise with other departments, branches, and head office for efficient branch administration.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Academic / Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related field
Working Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience at Branch Manager level
