Job Summary
The Network & Datacenter Specialist is responsible for the delivery, support, administration, and implementation of the Bank’s enterprise Network and Data Center infrastructure.
This role plays a critical part in supporting NBC’s technology and digital transformation strategy, working closely with business and IT teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure & Project Support
- Support all infrastructure environments (Production, DR, UAT, SIT)
- Deliver Network and Data Center solutions (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Data Center Fabric)
- Support infrastructure migrations, upgrades, optimization, and validation projects
- Drive infrastructure modernization, automation, and capacity improvement initiatives
2. Network & Security Management
- Administer network security infrastructure (Firewalls, VPN, Proxy, NAC, WAF, DDOS protection)
- Implement and maintain security controls aligned with bank policies
- Ensure network availability, stability, and optimal performance
3. Data Center Operations
- Support compute, storage, virtualization, and connectivity
- Maintain physical infrastructure (cabling, racks, power, cooling)
- Ensure optimal data center operational conditions
4. Monitoring, Maintenance & BAU Support
- Manage network monitoring tools and proactively resolve issues
- Perform patching, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Conduct performance tuning and infrastructure maintenance
- Provide 24/7 support when required
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Produce weekly and monthly performance, risk, and capacity reports
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
6. Disaster Recovery & Risk Management
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and failover exercises
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, risk, audit, and security standards
- Participate in audit remediation and risk mitigation activities
7. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with business, application, and management teams
- Manage vendors and third-party service providers
- Support strategic initiatives aligned with business objectives

- Familiarity with Agile and ITIL methodologies

- Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills

Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Engineering or related field
Professional Certifications
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
- HCNP (Huawei Certified Network Professional) – Advantageous
- Fortinet NSE / Palo Alto / other Network Security certifications
- Data Center certifications – Advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in enterprise Network & Data Center environments
- Proven experience in high availability environments (99.9% uptime or higher)
- Experience in financial services is an added advantage
Technical Expertise
- LAN, WAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, Routing & Switching
- Firewalls, VPN, and network security solutions
- Data Center architecture and technologies
- Network monitoring tools
- SD-WAN implementation
- Virtualization and cloud networking
- Core Banking infrastructure (advantageous)
- ITIL processes and service management
Additional Requirements
- Strong customer and stakeholder relationship skills
- Excellent presentation and communication abilities
- Ability to take ownership and deliver results
- Experience in similar environments preferred
- National Certificate in Information Technology (additional advantage)
