Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Purpose of the Role

The Procurement Officer will support the implementation and execution of the courier strategy for all MCL products. The role involves assisting in courier operations to maximize sales revenue, ensure sustainable business growth, and achieve set targets while maintaining high service standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and approve IPRs within authority limits.
• Obtain approval from Section Managers and MD for IPRs above authority.
• Prepare annual procurement plans and monitor their execution.
• Coordinate purchases for major expenditure through the tender board.
• Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers.
• Ensure IPRs are promptly issued for goods and services and that LPO/FPOS orders are approved.
• Follow up to ensure goods and services are delivered as per specifications and on order.
• Monitor consumption, stock levels, and re-order points.
• Ensure that returns, stock, printed waste, and miscellaneous assets are disposed of according to approved procedures.
• Liaise with user departments to ensure office utilities are available and cost-effective.

Additional Duties

• Monitor all insurance matters to ensure adequate cover, settlement of claims, and updated records.
• Conduct annual supplier evaluations and provide feedback for improvement.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Academic: Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supplies from a reputable institution.
• Experience: 3–5 years in a similar role within a reputable organization.
• Professional: Accredited certification in Procurement.
