Main Purpose
The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacy Department by ensuring efficient daily operations, continuity of services, compliance with MSF protocols, and timely execution of assigned tasks under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
General Accountabilities
- Assist in reviewing monthly SitRep reports, analyzing and providing feedback
- Support order follow-up and communicate backorder (BO) status for local and international purchases
- Assist in stock management and control across MSF offices, houses, and vehicles (physical counts, replenishment, expiry monitoring)
- Support preparation of monthly reports and medical data sharing
- Assist in organizing staff training sessions
- Act as backup for the Project Pharmacy Manager when required
Context-Specific Duties
- Prepare and analyze monthly Pharmacy Situation Reports (SitRep)
- Generate stock analysis reports (consumption trends, expiry risks, overstock)
- Support shipment follow-ups and coordination with supply teams
- Assist in customs clearance processes and cargo tracking
- Monitor and follow up on backorders with warehouse teams
- Maintain and update expired drugs list and participate in safe drug disposal processes
- Prepare and update first aid and emergency kits
- Monitor staff health stock consumption and ensure timely replenishment
- Share stock updates and coordinate project supply requests
- Ensure proper documentation and archiving of pharmacy records
- Analyze and propose actions for near-expiry stock (donations, redistribution, etc.)
- Participate in physical inventory processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Studies (University or Technical School)
- Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician
Experience:
- Experience working with local pharmacy systems (MoH/private sector) is an advantage
- Experience in supervision and training within a team setting
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Languages:
- Mission language required
- Local language is an added advantage
