Objective of the Role
To provide technical support to the Environment Department through:
- Waste collection and transportation
- Tool and equipment maintenance
- Fieldwork and environmental data collection
Key Responsibilities
Waste Management
- Collect and transport waste receptacles to landfill or transfer stations
- Operate skip loader trucks and related equipment
- Inspect landfill and waste systems for compliance
Environmental Monitoring
- Assist in:
- Water sampling programs
- Meteorological data collection
- Dust, noise, and vibration monitoring
- Biodiversity monitoring
- Collect diffusion tubes and environmental data
Field Operations
- Support and supervise re-vegetation activities
- Transport seedlings, tools, and related materials
- Conduct general fieldwork activities
Pest Control
- Set traps and place bait
- Perform fumigation
- Apply pest control chemicals safely
Equipment & Tools Management
- Inspect, clean, and maintain tools and equipment daily
General Duties
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Minimum Secondary Education
Licensing
- Valid Tanzanian Driving License (Classes B, D & E)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the mining industry
Knowledge & Skills
- Skip truck operation
- Risk assessment and management
- Pest control practices
- Ability to work in field and industrial environments
- Basic environmental monitoring understanding
