Position: Branch Manager
Location: Iringa
1. Job Summary (Purpose)
The Branch Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and operations of HIHEA TZ programs at the branch level.
The role also oversees:
- Human resources
- Administration and logistics
- Compliance with organizational policies and procedures
2. Duties and Responsibilities
R1. Program Implementation
- Support implementation of strategic and business plans at branch level
- Lead development and execution of operational and work plans
- Prepare and manage branch budgets, including monitoring and control
- Ensure prudent use of financial and material resources
- Oversee daily operations of programs, products, and services
- Ensure programs meet established quality standards
- Coordinate marketing, sales, and promotional activities with Head Office
- Monitor staff performance and productivity to meet targets
- Identify client needs and recommend product improvements
R2. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate records and proper documentation systems
- Prepare and submit periodic performance reports
- Track program activities and expenditures against targets
- Submit financial reports within required timelines
- Report key issues to management promptly
- Support documentation of case studies, lessons learned, and best practices
R3. Monitoring & Evaluation
- Support program monitoring and evaluation processes
- Use monitoring systems to track progress and results
- Implement M&E recommendations to improve performance
R4. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and partners
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Coordinate field visits for donors and partners
- Represent HIHEA TZ in forums and meetings
- Promote organizational visibility and public relations
- Maintain professional networks for knowledge sharing
R5. Human Resource & Administration
- Provide leadership and foster teamwork at the branch
- Supervise staff (recruitment, coaching, mentoring, performance management)
- Address staff grievances and disciplinary issues
- Promote staff motivation, development, and retention
- Conduct staff appraisals and identify capacity-building needs
- Oversee branch logistics and field arrangements
- Manage branch assets and ensure proper utilization
- Oversee procurement in line with policies and value-for-money principles
- Ensure compliance with safety and security standards
- Safeguard branch documents and contracts
- Perform additional duties as assigned
3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
a. Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Cooperative Studies
- Microfinance
- Marketing
- Business Management/Administration
- Commerce or related field
- Strong understanding of rural and peri-urban development and financing
b. Required Skills & Competencies
- Passion for working with marginalized communities
- Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse community groups
- Team player with initiative and consistent performance
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
- High integrity in handling financial resources
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills
- Attention to detail
- Effective communication in English and Kiswahili
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Commitment to HIHEA TZ mission and values
c. Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
