๐ผ Position Overview
๐ฏ Role Summary
The Solar Commissioning Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of new Jaza energy sites within the expansion pipeline.
- Ensures technical readiness of new sites
- Maintains quality standards and system performance
- Minimizes rework and commissioning errors
- Supports expansion of new operational hubs
โ๏ธ Key Accountabilities
- Own the commissioning process for assigned sites
- Ensure 100% compliance with commissioning procedures
- Manage technical equipment and inventory during deployment
- Maintain high technical quality standards across all sites
๐ง Key Responsibilities
๐๏ธ Site Commissioning
- Install technical equipment at new sites
- Manage tools, devices, and inventory during commissioning
- Ensure 100% connectivity of newly commissioned sites
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair faulty equipment before deployment
๐งช Technical Quality Assurance
- Maintain rework rate โค 5% for all commissioned sites
- Identify and report technical issues early
- Support continuous improvement in installation quality
- Complete QA checklists for all assigned sites
๐ Reporting & System Management
- Set up new sites in:
- Star App
- Dashboard
- Data systems (Dataverse)
- Provide progress updates to Commissioning Team Lead
- Track and report:
- Sites commissioned
- Rework rates
- Document and escalate technical issues appropriately
- Monitor inventory and flag shortages or gaps
๐ง Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in:
- Renewable Energy Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Or related technical field
๐ผ Required Experience
- Hands-on experience in:
- Solar PV systems
- Electrical installations and commissioning
- Renewable energy fieldwork
- Experience working in rural or remote areas of Tanzania
- Knowledge of:
- Health and safety procedures
- Technical tools, equipment, and software
- Lithium-ion batteries and battery management systems

- Solar PV system installation and commissioning
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Battery system testing and repair
- Use of technical tools and digital systems
