BASIC PURPOSE

The role is responsible for overseeing, managing, and monitoring relationship management within the consumer banking unit. The Relationship Manager supervises Relationship Managers and Relationship Officers to grow the consumer banking business and support the bank’s strategic objectives through the branch network.

The role also involves managing end-to-end relationships with stakeholders and branches to ensure smooth sales and customer retention. It includes designing sales action plans for consumer banking products and ensuring effective execution across the network.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive mortgage sales to achieve targets (new-to-bank and existing customers).
  • Identify and acquire new-to-bank customers.
  • Promote mortgage products including home purchase, construction, refinancing, and equity release.
  • Build and maintain a strong client pipeline.
  • Identify customer needs, assess risk appetite, and provide suitable investment options.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on market changes and portfolio adjustments.
  • Achieve revenue targets without compromising client profitability.
  • Focus on client acquisition and maintain awareness of market trends and financial developments.
  • Conduct regular client meetings and maintain records in meeting trackers.
  • Promote investment ideas and stock calls effectively.
  • Support new client acquisition and deepen existing client relationships.
  • Attend post-result calls and analyst meetings for improved client servicing.
  • Cross-sell third-party investment products such as mutual funds, bonds, PMS, structured products, and asset products (working capital loans, term loans, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with KYC and AML standards in loan portfolio management.
  • Maintain high-quality customer service and timely handling of queries, complaints, and correspondence.
  • Stay updated on bank policies, procedures, and technological changes.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field

Experience

  • 3–5 years’ experience in banking, preferably in mortgages or lending
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis and retail lending
  • Proven sales and relationship management experience

Skills

  • Strong cross-selling and upselling abilities
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and cash flows
  • Knowledge of mortgage structuring and pricing
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
